New Year

So I thought that if I wrote down my goals for the new year it might help me accomplish them so here we go.
1 Get Pregnant
2 Read Scriptures at least 15min each day
3 Potty train Reg
4 Go on a fun family vacation
5 Go to the Temple more
6 Get down to my pre baby weight
7 Have more date nights with Brent
8 Do more sewing projects
9 Start running and possibly run a half marathon.
So these are my goals for the year 2012. I will try yo keep you updated on how I am doing.

In other news Reg has been sick for about three weeks now. He has been cranky, sleepy, and hasn't been eating anything. So today I took him to the doctor and they said he has two huge ear infections. My poor baby. I felt like a terrible mother. I mean he wasn't pulling on his ears or anything so I thought it was just a cold. so he is on medicine so hopefully he should be better by Christmas.

So I know I have not updated in a VERY long time so here we go.

July

It was hot and we went swimming just about everyday. Aunt Sarah came to visit and Reg enjoyed himself. We went to D.C. everyday and saw a lot of fun stuff.

August

Brent worked the night shift a lot so it was just me and Reg. We went shopping, read books and took naps. Reg got really sick and had a fever of 103 for almost 24hours. I was a little scared and since Brent was working nights I was left alone to take care of Reg. Needless to say I let Reg sleep in our bed so I could keep an eye on him. We also had a 5.8 earthquake and a hurricane in August. We made it through so now I know we can do anything.

End of August

Well we did it, WE MOVED! We are now in a 2bedroom 1 1/2 bath townhouse and love it. There is so much space and we are so close to TWO different parks. My mom was here during the move which was AMAZING. Brent and I moved almost all of our stuff down the 3 flights of stairs (Did I mention I have been working out) and my mom watched Reg for us. While my mom was here we took her to D.C., Arlington and The Battle of Bull Run. It was so much fun to have my mom here.

September

So far it has been a great month. The weather is great and Reg and I are at the park almost everyday. Reg walks like a pro now. He does not really talk yet but he does point to things and grunt and if you ask him where is the dog or to get a book he understands. We are loving our life out here on the east coast but can't wait to go home and visit for Thanksgiving.

Ok I know I have not posted in a very long but right now I am in NEED of some advice. So Brent and I do not like living on the third floor and wish we would have taken more time to find a place that we really love. We have been looking around at places to rent and counting down the months until our lease ends. Recently a family in our ward announced that they would be moving and that there three bedroom town home would be up for rent. When I heard the news I asked how much they were asking for rent and was excited to find it was about the same as our apartment. (Having a town home rent out for about the same as an apartment is crazy in this area) So I asked Brent if we could break our lease to move. He was not into it at first but then realized that it was a steal. So I went and talked to our leasing office and found out if we break our lease we are responsible for the monthly rent until they can rent it out to someone else. Now all my hopes and dreams are crushed. The people in the office said that a 2bed 2bath usually rents out fast but there is no guarantee. So should Brent and I move and hope someone will move in here or should we just stay?

So I am so bad at blogging. So much has changed since my last post.

First I am doing between two to four haircuts a week! YAY for extra money and for doing hair. Second, drum roll please............REG CAN WALK! Yes I know it's sad, exciting and nerve racking all at the same time. He can stand all by himself and takes between five to ten steps all by himself. Every time he does it I get all excited and start to shout and clap my hands. This puts a HUGE smile on Reg's face and makes him so happy. Me and Brent will make him walk to us to get a treat and he loves it. I am so excited to see Reg grow and develop it makes me so proud and excited to see what the future will bring. Third, we are finally going to have visitors. Brent's parents are coming this weekend and we could not be more excited. We miss our families so much and can't wait to finally see them. In July Brent's sister Sarah is coming to visit and then in August my mom will come. These next couple of months are going to rock with all the company we will have. Last I just got in some super cute purses. I am sure if you would like one but don't want to pay for shipping one of our family members would be happy to bring it back to AZ for ya. (PS The Red one is to DIE for)

So tomorrow is my little boy's first birthday. WOW TIME HAS GONE BY SO FAST! I love my little Reg so very much and wouldn't mind having alot of chubby little boys running a muck around my house. There are just a few problems with that. First off with c-sections the max amount of kids you can have is four. Brent and I never wanted more than four so that is not such a big problem. Second being pregnant is the WORST thing ever. I dare say it's worse than constipation. (Yes I just said that) I can't stand the throwing up for 20 weeks, the constant pressure, and don't even get me started on the sleepless nights All this my friends is only the horror being pregnant. Now to the part right after the baby is born. Well first there is not being able to stand up straight or even sneeze with out fear of your insides falling out and your incision ripping open. Then there is the six weeks of death, you all know what I am talking about. Add to that the pain of nursing and fear you might spring a leak. So for all these reasons, Reg just might end up being an only child. So unless a stork shows up on my door step with a cute little baby, Reg will just have to wait a few more years for a sibling.

So this week my little Reg will turn 1! It is so sad to think he is growing up. I feel like just yesterday I was huge and waiting to meet my little guy. With this birthday comes a lot of changes. NO MORE FORMULA. I don't know how Reg will like this but it's so expensive. This leads me into my first question.

1 How do you switch a kid over to cows milk?

I have no idea how to do this and we don't go to the doc for two more weeks.

Everyday I look at Reg and think of how much he has grown from the day before. It's so sad to think that in a couple of weeks my little guy will be 1! It seems like just yesterday I was huge and waiting to meet my little guy. Now he is crawling, standing up, and getting into EVERYTHING and I wouldn't change it for the world. I tell him all day everyday that I love him and I give him lots of kisses because I know someday soon he will be embarrassed by me. I love this kid more than anything ever (except Brent) and would do anything to keep him happy! I love his chubby cheeks and the way they get red when he lets out a huge belly laugh. I love his raspy voice and even though it gets old I love the way he calls out mama. All in all I have the best little boy and I love him to pieces.

So today its warm and sunny out side! THANK HEAVENS. I was so close to packing our stuff up and moving back to AZ. Life here in VA kinda sucks right now. It always seems to be cold and rainy add that to lack of money and friends and you get the perfect combo for a completely boring life . Brent says it will get better but when all the days mush together and you never see the sun it's hard to believe him. I find craft ideas and then I remember I have and almost 1 year old who destroys anything in his path and unless that craft is going to be hanging on the wall it wont be safe. So the story of my life is wake up feed Reg and Charlie, go for a walk, come home play and watch cartoons, cook dinner, go to bed just to wake up the next day and do it all over again. Yay:/

Growing up I was always taught that you have to work hard for the things you want. I got my first job at 15 and have been a working girl ever since. It always made me feel good waking up and working a full day and not to mention the MONEY. Even though I never stuck to just one job field I have always enjoyed what I did.

Now that I am a stay at home mom things are a lot harder than I expected. Some days I miss waking up and going to work.I also miss the adult interaction and not to mention the pay checks. I feel like it is the same thing day after day. Then add to that not having car and living thousands of miles away from ANYONE you know makes it 10x harder.

Sunday I thought to myself I will just do hair out of my apartment to make some extra money and be able to get to know some people. So at church I was scoping out my new clients and to my amazement I saw about a hand full of ladies who look like they get their hair done. SERIOUSLY?! Back in AZ you will find a hand full of ladies you DON'T get their hair done. So it looks like I am back to square one.

So Yesterday we had some amazing weather. It was in the mid 60's which means when we went on our Sunday walk we only needed a light sweat shirt instead of our heavy coats:) I am starting to get excited at thought of Spring!

We have arrived in Virginia safe and sound. We have moved into our cozy little apartment and are almost done unpacking. So far we love it here. We have gone down to D.C. and been "tourists" and enjoyed every second of it. Pictures will be coming soon.

A couple of weeks ago we decided between the two different job offers. We ended up choosing to work for Bechtel in Washington DC. We will be moving at the end of this month. Peace out Arizona!

So Brent has graduated from ASU, and received a job offer from Kiewit Northwest. The pay is good and so are the benefits, but we are still waiting for a job offer from Bechtel which should be coming any day now. Soon we should know when and where we will be moving. The suspense is killing me.

Reg is almost 8 months old, has two treeth and is such a busy body. He can sit up on his own and can scoot himself backwards. He loves to eat, play and snuggle. Reg loves to watch Baby Einstein and sing and clap his hands. We are waiting for the day he starts to crawl around!

I have decided to get myself back into shape. I have gone to the gym everyday this year, well except Sundays. I am looking to get back down to my pre baby weight. These last 10lbs have got to go! I have tried to eat only healthy stuff and drink lots of water but it almost seems like I am gaining weight. Needless to say I am very frustrated. So my weight loss journey continues:/

So this past weekend we went up north around Flagstaff to a cabin. It was so much fun to get away and be out in the beautiful woods. It was in the 40's during the day and low 20's at night. Perfect weather if you ask me!

While we were there we went to this wildlife park called Bearizona. It is a park you drive through and see all kinds of animals. There were bison, big horn sheep, black bears and grey wolfs. I asked Brent to take pictures. As you can tell he didn't do a very good job.

Next we went to Winslow and looked at trains. If Reg grows up to be anything like my nephew Lincoln he will be obsessed with trains! We walked around and saw the Polar Express. I hope someday we can take Reg on it.

Despite the chilly temps Reg was in his happy place when he could be outside in the swing. I think its safe to say Reg is going to be a TOTAL boy just like his dad. I guess this means I am going to have to invest in a good pair of running shoes so I can keep up with my little guy.

The BEST part of the trip was seeing this outhouse. Can you imagine having to run outside in your pj's just to go potty? Just think how cold that toilet seat would be. No thank you.

So this was our first Halloween as parents. It was alot of fun getting Reg all dressed up and showing him off. He was the cutest lion anyone had ever seen.

So at 11pm the day before the Halloween party Brent rolls over and tells me he has just the perfect costumes for us. He explains how we could switch places. I would be a construction worker and he would be a hair stylist. I was so tired I agreed to his plan. Needless to say we were the oddest looking couple at the party. Brent with his blonde wig and dark bushy eyebrows and we wearing bright colored clothes that were two sizes to big.

5 months

Can you believe my little man is almost five months old? He is getting so big and so much personality! He is such a chunky little guy I just love to kiss him and pinch his rolls. This week we gave him rice cereal for the first time. He was not to sure at first but then he warmed up to it. The only set back is he has STINKY toots and gross poop. Its all part of growing up I guess.

Since giving birth I have lost almost all my baby weight. All but these last ten pounds that just wont go away. I have tried diet, exercise anything you can think of but still nothing. And on top of that it seems like everything has shifted south if you get my drift? So needless to say I am not to happy with myself. I feel bad that Brent has to hear me complain and watch me pull things and talk about how this extra skin was not there before. So I have come to the conclusion that not only do we sacrifice time and money for our kids but also our bodies, and I am ok with that. So here is to my life as a mom with an imperfect body and a little less cash in my pocket but a sweet chubby boy. Cheers!

Today we took Reg to get his shots. Brent held him while I told Reg he was a brave boy and that mom and dad loved him. Every time they would poke him I would close my eyes while Reg would scream. He got three shots and was so brave. After it was all over I held him until he st oped crying. We put him in his car seat and drove home in silence. I think both Brent and I felt bad for putting our little bubba through pain. Since he got the shots at 10:30 this morning, Reg has been asleep and I have taken his temperature three times and its 100F. They said if it gets over 101f to give him some Tylenol. Poor little baby. He is just fast asleep in a puddle of sweat on his doggy rug my aunt gave him. Poor little dude doesn't even know what hit him:(

I remember the days of waking up around 11, throwing on a swim suit and sitting by the pool for the next 3 hours. Then heading inside to watch Passions (the BEST soap opera EVER) eating a snack, and off to bed for a quick cat nap. Waking back up around 6 to get ready for the night! Oh what a life. Now I get up feed Reg, change Reg, feed Charlie, take him outside to potty and working out with Jillian Michaels all before 10. Man I sure do miss those days but I would not give up my life as a mommy for anything!

Speaking of being a mom, I seem to have gained a few extra pounds and some loose skin I am in need of shedding. So if anyone would like to join me we can work out and do Weight Watchers together. It's always better with the buddy system!

It seems like all the Lewis boys in my house have odd sleeping habits. First there is Charlie. He howls and snores all night long and wags his tail like crazy. Then there is Reg. He grunts and coos so loud, Brent says he sounds like a dinosaur. Last but not least there is Brent. I have had a full conversation with him while he is asleep and on top of that he will try to talk to me in Portuguese. So is all this "normal" or am I the crazy one? I guess I will never know.

So in honor of Fathers Day I would like to tell you a little about my baby daddy!

Brent and I were told that if we wanted kids we would have to do fertility. So because of this we started trying about six months after we were married. I would always think i was pregnant, take a test and be sad and depressed when it would come back "not pregnant." So last August i was late and wanted to take a test, Brent said i should just wait. I was mad because i thought he did not want me to be pregnant. So the next day from work he sent me this email.

Sorry I made you feel like I don't want to have a baby yesterday. I just know how excited you get and I don't want you to be sad if you aren't. I want to have a baby too but sometimes I am afraid that I am not ready and will not be a good dad or that we wont have enough money or time for each other anymore. I love you and am so happy that you married me.

Needless to say i took a test a few days later and i was pregnant.

Now that Reg is here Brent is the best dad ever. In the hospital i was so drugged up and could hardly move Brent would change, feed and rock Reg. He would also have daily singing time with Reg. He would put on Johnny Cash and sing to him for hours. The nurses would come in and just smile. Then when Brent would walk down the hall all of the nurses would say, "Oh you are the dad with the great singing voice." I was so proud! Brent loves holding, kissing and cuddling with Reg. I cant even imagine anyone loving their baby more than Brent. I am so glad i married Brent and that we have the cutest little boy together. I cant wait to have more babies with him and see him as our kids grow. So HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO MY BABY DADDY!

So on Saturday Reg turned one month old. Time has gone by so fast. It seems like yesterday he was a little baby who just slept all day. Reg has gained a little over 2lbs so he is over 10lbs now. He also is getting alot stronger. He can hold his head up and move it side to side. He also recognizes my voice and will turn to see me. He is so alert! Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that head of his. So we took a trip to the coast with Brent's cousin. IT WAS FREEZING. The wind was blowing so hard. It was nothing like the beach in California. We had to keep Reg bundled because he was not a fan of the wind. It was fun when the tide went out because we got to go to the tide pools and saw fish, sea enemies and star fish. I wish Reg could be bigger I think he would have loved it. So I was looking back on what I thought Reg would be like and I was dead on. He is such a good baby. He is a social butterfly but LOVES his mom. He already shows his strong personality, and I know it will only get worse the older he gets. I love my little peanut and could not imagine him any other way!

So the past few days I have been exploring our new home. The weather is nice it just stinks not knowing how to get around. I have been using the Internet and our gps to find places to go. Some things on my to do list are, get my hair done, get a spray tan, go pick fresh fruit, and go to the Portland Temple. I have been going through sun with drawls but not having to BLAST the a.c. is making up for it. The past three nights have been awesome. Reg is like a clock. Every three hours he is up and ready to eat. So Monday night he went 4 1/2 hours between his feedings. Then Tuesday night he slept from 10 to 4 and he did it again last night. I have NO idea why he is sleeping so well but I sure hope it continues. Reg also is a LOUD sleeper. He coos and grunts in his sleep. We have to sleep with white noise to drown him out. Its so cute all the noises and faces he makes while he is sleeping. He also loves to be held. He can be crying but the second he is picked up he smiles and stops. This is a good thing but when it comes to setting him down when he is asleep he will wake back up and give a sad face and start crying again.

Charlie is becoming a wilderness dog. Back home he would not go out in the rain and would jump over puddles. Here in Washington he has had to get over the rain thing but still jumps over puddles. He does however love running through the tall grass and chasing after rabbits. He also is constantly sitting by the back sliding door watching for squirrels. He will sit there for hours just waiting for one to come on the back porch. Then when he sees one he will bark and whimper at it. It is so funny to watch. It reminds me of the dog on the movie UP!

So we are here in Washington now and it is so GREEN! It is a little chilly for me but I will take it over 100 degree weather any day. The house we are staying in is so nice and Reg seems to like it here along with Charlie.

Reg Arrives!

This is my first time writting on our blog. But due to many requests here we go. Miranda was scheduled to be induced on Monday night. However, much to our dissapointment the hospital called us to infrom us that they were overbooked and that we would have to wait. The next morning as we were out walking Prince Charlie Lord of Barkley (our dog) we got the green light from the hospital. After a lot of hard work Miranda was not progressing like they wanted her to so after 36 hours they decided to do a c section. This is her going into the opperating room.

The c section went well. Reginald was born at 11:40. He weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. This is Mirandas first time seeing her baby boy.

Reg is a hungry boy! I was honored to be able to be the first one to feed him.

Reg hasn't even had a run in with the law but he has already been printed and procesed. As you can see he wasn't to happy about it.

Miranda was happy to be out of surgery and be able to hold Reg for the first time.

Reg has been doing very well. He is eating and sleeping well. Miranda and I are so proud and happy of our beautiful baby boy! Reg now spends a lot of time eating, sleeping, smiling and listening to me sing Johny Cash.

So after talking to the doctor and telling him we are moving to Oregon May 15 he said he could induce me at 39 weeks. So we have set the date! Its May 10th at 8pm. I am SO excited. The end is within reach! The doctor said that since I am only dialted to a 1 that I should plan on it taking a good 24 hours. What?! He said bring movies, books and things to keep myself entertained. So I don't know if I can have visitors while I am waiting but if I can you are more than welcome to pop in and say hello. Just know as soon as the pushing begins everyone must go:)

So last Friday we went and got an ultra sound of little Reg. He weighs about 7lbs and his head was measuring 2 weeks bigger than it should be. What the? I almost died. Seven pounds already and he still has four weeks left. I sure hope he comes soon or I will give birth to a toddler. Then Saturday was my baby shower and it was a blast. There was so much good food and friends and family I was the happiest girl. Reg got SO many clothes and diapers and not to mention a pimp car seat and stroller. I have to thank my in laws for putting the entire thing on. It was nice to just show up and get free stuff and not have to worry about anything. Thank you thank you thank you! So today I went for my 36 weeks appt. My cervix is thinning out but is still not open. I also found out I am a strep carrier and am RH neg so my delivery should be fun and full of extra shots and excitement. I am not to stressed about labor I am actually looking forward to it. So I will keep you all updated on how big Reg gets and when and I go into labor. If anyone has any SAFE ideas to help speed the process along I am all ears!

35 Weeks

Ok so this week I am 35 weeks pregnant! What the....where did the time go? The doctor thinks Reg is only 6 to 6 1/2lbs so I go in this Friday for an ultrasound to see. I am excited I have not seen my little guy since 18 weeks. Brent will poke my belly all the time and say " Hey you in there, your time is up." Its so cute but I keep reminding Brent that Reg is just chilling in his lazy boy recliner and will come when he is ready. I know this may sound weird and maybe you mothers out there will understand but I feel like I already know him and his little personality. He is going to be stubborn and active with his own agenda but I also think he will be a little love bug too. I can see him now wanting to work things out his own way and on his own time. this will bug me because I like things done a certain way but I will just have to learn to live with it. I think he will be a good baby and will like to be passed around and and loved on. He will know he is cute, just like his daddy! I just cant wait! I want to see him and snuggle him. I told Brent that after he is born that he should hold him first because once I get him, he is all mine. Brent laughed but I could tell he is excited to hold him first. 1 I cant wait to see my little guy:)

3 I want to not feel like I have a athlete in training in my tummy 24/7

Ok so since my last post alot has happened.
FEB

Brent went to Reno for a week for a competition for school. His team did not win but they did a great job. He talked to at least 5 companies about doing his internship with them this summer so that was good. We also decided that since it did not look like we would be staying her in AZ this summer we would rent out our house and move in with my mom:( It is not so bad we have the entire basement to ourselves.

March

Early in this month Hamilton Construction called and offered Brent an internship in Oregon. We were excited we had got one but said to know that right after Reginald is born we will have to move away for the summer. I mean what am I going to do with a new born and a dog. (Yes Charlie is a part of our family and will be making the long trip with us this summer:/) So now that we live in Mesa we get to see alot more of our friends and family. I love it! The doctor says I am doing great. He says my weight gain and Reg's growing are right on track. I dont have any stretch marks on my tummy.....yet so that is exciting too. I have been having BAD contractions but they ran some test and my cervix is still closed so they said to just take it easy. I have been outgrowing everything i own it seems overnight. It is uncomfortable and fun all at the same time. I have been stressing out about what I am going to do with a baby and how i will know what to do. I hope in the next 8 weeks I get some idea of what i am doing.

These past weeks I have been out looking and shopping for things for my little guy. Girl things are cute and sassy but I jsut cant get over little boys stuff. I mean how can you look at a little church outfit with a vest and not just have your heart melt? Or look at a little outfit that says mommy loves me and jsut not want to squeeze it? Surprisingly I have had awesome self controll and have only baught things I thought I could not live with out!

So I know I have not posted in forever so here is a little update about the Lewis home. Brent has started back at ASU and is liking his classes. We both still don't have jobs and are just doing odd jobs for people. I am about 6 months pregnant and let me tell you baby Reg is a little busy body. He is kicking 24/7 it seems like he never sleeps which means I never sleep.

So today at church I was sitting in Relief Society and fanning myself with the program. We live in Arizona and it is not that cold but it felt like the heat was cranked to 90. So I ask my friend Natalie next to me if she was hot and she said she actually felt cold. So I looked around the room and realized I was like all the old My new adventure is beginning before Reg makes his grand entrance.

That is right! Yesterday we went and found out we are having a little boy and we are so excited! There was no doubt in our minds once the image came up and I yelled out "it's a wiener." Brent laughed at me and the ultra sound lady thought I was crazy.

So for those of you who dont know I was let go at work. They said that since I could not work full time after the baby they did not want to keep me around. DUMB! So now I just sit around ALL day bored as ever. I thought it would not be that bad but in the past couple of weeks we have had SO many unexpected bills that need to be paid. I have become extreamly stressed out which I know is bad for the baby but I cant help it. With me not working and Brent working part time we are living off our savings and money will dry up at some point. So I am asking if anyone knows of any job that is hiring let me know. I am not picky and can work just about any hours. Or if anyone has ideas of things I could do from home I am open to anything.

Dear Baby Lewis

Mom would like to know what on earth you are doing in there? You are only 16weeks old but I
can feel you moving already. It feels like butterflys have taken over my tummy. Every time I try to have dad feel it you stop moving. I think it is a little game you like to play! I can see you now my little mischievous one playing tricks on mom and dad. The past couple of weeks you have given us a scare with the bad cramps, killer back pain and shooting pain down my leg, but you were probably just trying to make my tummy more comfortable. You FINALLY let me stop throwing up and put on 3lbs. Now I am starting to fill out more, and soon I could actually look pregnant! Mom and dad love you so much. Dad insists you only listen to GOOD music so he puts Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon on my tummy and you seem to like it. Dad already is speaking to you in Portuguese and slowly I am learning too. Five more months in my tummy and then it will be your big day. And dont forget Dec 21, give us a clear so we can see if you are a boy or girl! Try to be kind and gentle when you do arrive and not be over 8lbs. I dont think I can give birth to a 10lbs baby! Remember mom and dad love you and want you to grown big and strong!

So this past week has been a roller coaster. I have been throwing up 2-3 times a day and hungry as ever. Today I went to the doc for my 13 week check up and all is good. I am O Negative blood type so if Brent has positive blood I have to get a shot at 7months if we plan on having any more babies. Notice how I put the word IF....Yes 1 may be enough for me if being pregnant means being miserable. I told Brent my idea and he just looked at me, so I don't think he likes it.

Since my first visit I have lost some weight so the doc put me on Zofran to try and help me keep stuff down. I sure hope it works. We also listened to the babies heart beat and the doc made the comment "Wow sure sounds like an active one!" NOOOOO! Looks like baby Lewis is already doing cartwheels in my tummy and there is nothing we can do to stop the little thing. I also got the H1N1 shot. I was scared to at first but I figured what is the worst that can happen? At least I wont become a little piggy!

We have prepared ourselves that the baby is most likely a girl since the doc said he thinks it is and everyone else does to. Get ready for the most blinged out girl ever. We might as well name her sparkle because she will always have her accessories. Lets just hope she checks her attitude at the door.

So there is not much to see just the start of a bump.

So it has been a LONG time since my last post so here is an update.

The past few weeks have been brutal. I have been sick 24/7 throwing up or on the verge. It has been terrible. Thankfully Brent and Charlie have been here for me. Charlie will lick my feet while I am face down in the toilet and Brent will bring me a drink and rub my tummy when I am done. I don't want to jinx myself but it has been 4 days since I last threw up. YAY!

We found a cute crib and changing table on craigslist for $150 and it is in awesome condition! The nursery is starting to have some life in it.

So I have been thinking alot of how our baby will be. Will it look more like me or Brent? Will it be a boy or a girl? And most of all will it have the energy both Brent and I had growing up? I think of our poor mothers having to deal with all of our energy and trying to keep us entertained....Oh I hope our baby will be calm and not full on energy.

The one thing I think about most is how much baby Lewis is going to be loved. With all the aunts, uncles and cousins our baby will have tons of friends. And with a mom and dad who are silly, there will NEVER be a dull moment in our babies life. So keep on growing my little baby get nice and strong so mommy and daddy can love you to pieces when you get here!

So yesterday we were traveling west on the us 60 and were in a BAD accident. We switched into the far right lane and realized there was a desk in our lane. Brent swerved to avoid the desk but lost control of the Tahoe. We went from the far right lane all the way to the other side crashing into the cement median. We hit the front passenger side then bounced and ended up facing on coming traffic with the back end of the Tahoe smashed against the median. I remember it being silent as we were heading to the median. I thought no one can live after hitting this right? So right before we hit it I yelled out "Heavenly Father please protect us and let us live." He did! The Tahoe is a hunk of metal. The rims were ripped off lug nuts still in place. ITS A MIRACLE WE ARE OK. Our backs and necks hurt and I have a cut on my foot but that is all. We went to see how the baby was today and its fine. Healthy as can be! It measured 1/2inch and had a heart beat of 150. YAY! I don't know why Heavenly Father saved us but I sure am glad he did. I am grateful i still have my AMAZING husband and my baby. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers it means so much to us!

Sunday September 20
The night before I had decided I was going to take a pregnancy test, so when I woke up at 3am and had to go I made myself close my eyes and go back to sleep. So 6am rolls around and I know its time. I do the potty dance as I shimmy off my pants. I unwrap the test and do my thing. The first line is there saying I took the test right. That was a relief. After flushing and going about what you do after you use the bathroom I took a peek at the test"+". What already no way I went and sat on the bed for about 2min. I went back into the bathroom and there it was clear as day PREGNANT! I ran back into the bedroom screaming "BRENT BRENT I AM PREGNANT!" He sat up half asleep and said cool then went back to sleep. I was not happy with this response so I jumped on the bed and started dancing. I told him to come look he said bring it here. I reminded him there is pee on it so he got up looked at the test and smiled. Then we went back to the bed and snuggled. After about 10min of that I was ready to call and tell everyone. Brent said we should wait a while and think of a cool way to do it. Well I couldn't hold it in. I called my mom and 630am and told her, she cried. Then she reminded me that I need to take it easy because there is a chance I may not carry to full term. I knew this was a huge possibility but I was so excited I didn't care. So now a week later I can tell everyone....I AM PREGNANT! I am so excited and happy I don't even know what to say except this is a huge blessing and a miracle and I am enjoying EVERY second of it.

OK so i have been a mess the past couple of weeks. i am 40 days with out a period. i have not taken a test because i am scared it will say "not pregnant" and i don't want to hear that. i have been tired, have to go to the bathroom alot more, my chest is sensitive, and i have gained some weight. the thing that is throwing me off is i have been having cramps for about three weeks. so last night i could not fall asleep because i kept thinking about a baby, and when i did fall asleep i dreamed i got twin boys. not that i gave birth to them but that we adopted them. so i woke up this morning all excited then i realized it was a dream. i am a mess. i want a baby more than anything but know my chances of ever having one of my own are small. i don't know why i am writing about this, i usually don't tell people my personal problems. i don't know what else to say. i am sad and i think Brent is too but we have both decided that if we are not pregnant with in a year we will adopt so i know someday i WILL have a baby and i will love it more than ANYTHING in this world and i know Brent will be the BEST dad ever. this is what keeps me going.

So I never thought I would be the type of person who treats their pet like a human...Well I thought wrong. Charlie is treated like our child and not just by me, Brent is guilty too. He sleeps in our bed in between us. We hold him like a baby and take pictures of him in the tub. He loves bath time he just does not like getting his face wet.

So this past weekend we went camping with our friends Cody and Mel and their two dogs. It was alot of fun sleeping on the ground and playing with the dogs. Charlie liked to swim in the near by creek. He did not like when Brent took him to the other side and dropped him in so he could swim to me. It was a close call when he went under for a split second both Brent and I were ready to jump in after him. We had alot of fun!

Cheap and Easy

So on Saturday I found out that I can do hair at my salon. They just charge for the product (color) so between $10-$20. What a steal! So if you are wanting anything done just let me know. They don't book for me I have to do it all myself so email, text, or call me.

Ok on to more exciting stuff. I was thinking of how much I hate waking up early to get ready. So I decided to do some investigating on what are easy ways to look like you spent an hour getting ready but really on spent like 15min. Here is my list

1 Mascara it makes eyes look awake

2 eye liner defines those peepers

3 blush/bronzer adds color and makes you look sun kissed

4 naturally wavy hair Rock that body add some gel or mouse

5 straight hair use a little bit of back combing and hair spray

6 add hair accessories like flowers it makes it look like you put more effort into it

7 earrings even a simple pair can add some spice to your look

This is my list so far. I read ALOT of magazines and did some people watching to see what I thought would be easy but yet make a difference. What do you think? Do you agree, have more to add, give me your feedback!

If you don't want to spend a lot on beauty products Sally's has cheap but good hair products and ELF make up has good eye shadows. Also ULTA has good sales on make up. I like BENEFIT and SMASHBOX for my face and DERMALOGICA is what I swear by for face wash.

Health Care

So Obama is tying to make health care available for everyone. Being some one who cant get private insurance due to endometriosis I am all for health care but not when its FREE. When you just hand stuff out to people and don't make them have any responsibilities they don't understand how lucky they are and they abuse it. I have seen this first hand working in the dental field. People were getting FREE dental care and were not even grate full. This makes me upset because Brent and I have not have not had insurance for over a year and do our best to stay healthy. So to Obama I would say, make people learn a little bit of responsibility. Don't just give it away but make it more available to EVERYONE! What do you all think? Am I crazy or is Obama's plan not so smart?

Back to Life

So earlier in the week I went in for an interview at Epic Salon in Chandler. I didn't get my hopes up because i had not yet received my license and I was trying to be open minded. So about three hours after the interview they called and said i had got the job! I was so excited. Its only about thirty hours a week but its better than nothing. Then yesterday i got the BEST letter in the mail. I PASSED STATE BOARD. So its official i am a licensed cosmetologist. So this week has been pretty good if you ask me. I will be in the assisting program at Epic for six months to a year and then i will get my own chair and be a stylist. This is exactly what i wanted. Learn more about cosmetology and be the BEST stylist ever.

Easy Enchiladas

2 family size cans cream of chicken soup
2 cans of chicken
1 can diced green chilis
2 cups shredded cheese
1 tub sour cream
36 pack corn tortillas
Add all ingredients except tortillas to crock pot and put on low 1-2 hours (until soupy). Tear up tortillas add to crock pot. Heat about an hour. Serve.

These are so good and so easy. I like mine a little more spicy so I add a can of el pato. If you are making it for just TWO I would suggest cutting the recipe in half.

Ok so here I go again about wanting a baby. It seems like everyone and their mother is pregnant. I know I should be excited for them but I just get upset, why am I not pregnant? I have been off birth control for a year now, I eat right, take prenatal pills, check when I am ovulating but still NOTHING. Every time I am a day late I get all excited just to be let down, AGAIN. I know this is such a selfish and depressing post but I am just felling that way. So I ask does anyone know of ANYTHING I can do/take to help? I read about this pill called Endovan does anyone know anything about it? Ok I feel like I need to say THANK YOU to my family for praying and helping through this and BRENT for dealing with my bad attitude and always keeping me positive and looking at the stuff we are blessed with.

So yesterday Brent called me from work and said “let’s go shopping today,” I said ok and didn’t think much about it all day. So by the time he came home I was not in the mood to go because it was so hot outside. Brent said I had no choice we were going. So we went to Chandler Mall and used some gift cards we had for American Eagle, Bath and Body Works and Nordstrom. I never knew that Nordstrom had a sister store called Nordstrom Rack and everything is like 50% cheaper. I was so excited to be out of the house with my babe! We got new heels for me (they are super cute) and Brent a new shirt. We also got some soap and lotion from Bath and Body Works. In all we spent about $5, now that’s my kind of shopping! And to make it even better Brent held the bags for me. On the car ride home I was so EXHAUSTED, now I remember why I am not into shopping. All the smells and walking around really wears me out. So I asked Brent why he wanted to go shopping so badly. He said he had read our blog and felt bad that I didn’t feel like I had cute stuff and wanted to take me out. I instantly felt all warm inside. My BRENTY, after a long day at work, was willing to take me out shopping and even hold my bags. Man I am SO lucky to have him. What husband WANTS to go shopping with their wife? SO after yesterday I feel like a PRINCESS and my prince BRENT is the bestest ever.

Moving On

So yesterday I got a call from Avante... I did not get the job. I wont lie I was upset but I had prepared myself for the worst. In the interview they said they get over 100 applications a week so I felt blessed I even got an interview. I called my friend Amber and told her the news. At first she did not believe me. After convincing her I was not lying she said her boss had told her how much she had liked me but they wanted someone who could work Sundays. After Amber told me that I was not so upset. I knew I would find another job and I would be blessed for standing my ground and saying I would not work Sundays!

On a brighter note I was watching Oprah and Rachel Ray yesterday and learned some AMAZING stuff. On Oprah they showed how to save money at the grocery store by making a list and shopping the sales. They also gave awesome ideas for easy recipes that cost like $15 for an entire days worth of food. I would urge you all to go on her website under the food tab then the menu category and look up Cat, Curtis and Tyler's recipes. You will be glad you did! Ok so then on Rachel Ray it was saying how to turn your old clothes into new stylish ones. It showed how to take an old pair of jeans and make them look vintage and take your old shirts and turn them into clothes for your kids with just scissors, a toothpick and ribbon. So I would LOVE to try these out so I am wanting to know who has time to be crafty with me? A New Me

So this past Monday I took my written part of state board and I PASSED! I was so excited and proud of myself for the extra hours I had put into to studying. I take the practical part of my exam on Monday and if all goes well I will be a licensed cosmetologist!

So at the start of a new year most make goals, but I missed that by about eight months. So I decide that I would start now, better late than never right?

1) Attend the temple more often
There is no excuse for not going at least every month or every week for that matter.
2) Learn to cook….better
I want to be able to cook for my family or future family and have confidence in what I am doing.
3) Get a job
At this point I won’t be picky. I originally wanted to work at Avante Salon with one of my best friends Amber, but just a job would do now!
4) get healthy
I want to do this not only for the fact its good for you but it is good practice for when I get pregnant. (Hopefully this year)
5) Get a tan
Since the new study came out about tanning beds and skin cancer I think I will just stick to self tanners!
6) Be more crafty
I want to have that home around the holiday season that just feels all warm and cozy and is decorated to the tee.

So these are my goals so far. What are some goals you have? Maybe we have similar goals and we could work on them TOGETHER!

Ok so this week of sitting around in a big t-shirt and gym shorts has led me to the following topic.....FASHION. I look around and see all these cute girls in darling outfits and think "I want to look like that". So I venture out and then I realize I am a cheap skate and cant see how you pay $30 for a shirt. So I go home empty handed. This is always depressing because I dream of all the cute stuff I will come home with and then go into my closet and see the same old stuff. So I am asking the question what and where are cute INEXPENSIVE places to shop. I dont know why after 22years and growing up with 4 sisters I dont know any of this but I dont. My sister Myla always is dressed cute and has cute stuff but then I realized its because she sells cute bags and jewelry so she has to be "in style".(ps her blog is pursenickety.blogspot.com). Then there is my sister Marissa, i give her my old stuff and I see her wear it and think " Why did it not look like that on me"? So I am asking all of you my fellow bloggers where you shop and get your cute stuff? I am looking for the following items. Cowgirl boots, cute shirts, layering items, and jeans. Thanks for all your help, I will let you all know how my quest ends.

So last Friday I did it I finished beauty school! I was so excited and just could not wait for the freedom. Well now a week later I am bored. I will be waiting about four to six weeks to take my state boards and then its off on a job hunt. I am not the kind of girl who can sit around the house cleaning and cooking, I have to be out and working. I know this will all change after we have kids but now I just want a job and something to do. In these upcoming weeks I will be brushing up on my cooking skills. Last week I made bread (in a bread machine) and instant cheesecake. Its a start at least. So if you have any simple ideas for recipes send them my way, and if you have any ideas of salons I should apply at send here too. I am open for any ideas of suggestions. So the next couple of weeks I am free for shopping, cooking or craft dates so let me know.

So next week will end my SIX years of beauty school! I know I know that is a LONG time. I started the summer going into my junior year at EVIT and then I got in a bad car accident and dropped out. Just this past December I decided to go back and finish! It was hard to try and remember everything but i am glad I did it. I realized I LOVE making people feel beautiful. I am not what you would call a girly girl but i do love girly stuff. This has been a long journey for me and am grateful for all of my support. My mom for always pushing me to go back and finish, my family for encouraging me and MOST of all my BRENTY. He has been there for me every step of the way and motivating me:) So thank you to everyone who has helped me and made this possible.... Now I just need to find a job!!

ok so brent got an internship building the light rail in phoenix. we were so excited because we did not have to move away and we got to be together. well recently the city of phoenix put a stop to the building of the light rail and we were scared brent was going to lose his internship. (he needs this to graduate) so after a lot of stressing out and wondering what was going to happen the company he is working for said they could use him down in tucson and he would be there monday through friday. well this was a HUGE relief that he would still be able to work but then it hit me, brent would be gone all week and i would be alone and bored. i hate sleeping and being alone. i hear a little noise and freak out and cant sleep or move. well the first night was hard but then i realized i have charlie. so i just snuggle with him and when i get scared i talk to him. i know you all must be thinking he is a dog but to me his is a BLESSING because it makes it easier to have brent away and helps me to stay sane. i am so grateful that i have charlie but most of all that i have a husband who works so hard at everything he does. i am the luckiest girl!

so me and brent have been doing alot of talking the past couple months about getting a dog. about two weeks ago brent surprised me and go a cute little shih tzu from the pound. the first couple nights were hard and i told brent to take the dog back i was over the dog thing but then me and charlie started to bond. he is the best dog ever. he never barks, is potty trained and best of all loves me to death! me and charlie have great fun together weather it be going on a walk or playing with his squeaky toy. all of this hard work has made me realize i want a little boy to spoil to death and one brent can pass his "ladies man" skills onto. i know you all must be thinking we have only been married a year but i cant wait to have little brents running around. i know that we have some challenges up ahead with trying to get pregnant and the whole deal but hopefully it wont be to much of a heart ache and if so we will just adopt cute little babies. so those are my thoughts as of today. i will add some pics of charlie once i up load them to the computer. and please keep me and brent in your prayers that someday we will be able to have kids!

So Saturday March 7 was me and Brent's one year wedding anniversary. We went to this cute little bed and breakfast in Pine. We had alot of fun just being together and being lazy. I wanted to do something special for Brent but did not want to spend a lot of money. So I decided that I would propose to him. I managed to get his ring away from him and then as he was lying in bed I walked over to him and asked him if he would be mine forever. I won’t lie I got teary eyed. He said yes and then he laughed at me. He said he did not expect me to do that.

We also thought it would be cute to go and do sealing on our anniversary. Well the temple was packed so we just went to a session. It was an awesome experience to be in the temple with him. I started thinking about that day and I cried in the temple.

So....many of you may not know this but getting married was terrifying for me. I was cool and calm the entire time we were engaged and was not worried much about my hair, dress or anything like that. Some may say I was opposite of bridezilla. So the day of the wedding I woke up and thought to myself "what the heck are you doing" well I brushed it off and started getting ready. Around 12 Brent came and picked me up to go to the temple. We signed all the paper work and then went our separate ways. I was in the bride’s room with my mom and I remember looking at myself then my mom and I lost it. I was crying snot dripping down my face big black eyes and begging my mom to not make me do it. I did not want to get married. My mom and all the temple workers in the bride’s room were a little confused. They were wiping my tears and asking me why i thought that. I told them I did not want to leave my mom all alone (my mom is divorced and I am the BIGGEST mamas girl) my mom laughed and said "well if you don’t want to I will go tell Brent and we can go home, but think if you would be happy without him." well I knew then that I wanted to get married. I went and met Brent and he could see that I had been crying. He asked "this is just one of those things that’s going to happen huh?" I said yes and we just sat there holding hands. I wish I could have known on that day that everything would be ok and it’s nothing to be scared of.

Now I have the best husband EVER. He is always there for me and I can’t imagine life or eternity for that matter without him. He is my better half and I love him!

ok so i feel bad that i did not mention ALL of my friends...Like Megan and Jessica. i went to Evit with them when i was first starting beauty school. and then i have Jen and Kelsie who i have not known that long but still they are my friends....And if i forgot anyone i am SO sorry. i tend to be a space case so ya forgive me. But on a different subject i have been hearing alot of gossip that Jessica Simpson is fat and blah blah blah. Well i think that is suck crap. everyone said it about Tyra and now about Jessica. I say more power to them. i think that it is so gay that if you are not a size 0 then you are not "HOT". Well i think Jessica and Tyra are still drop dead gorgeous even if they are what some may call"Fat". i think there are alot of skinny girls out there you are cocky and i think that makes you unattractive. So ya that is my little thought of the week....dont know why i just told all of you this but thats how i feel.

What's New?!

So what is new? Well me and Brent have almost been married 1year. How crazy is that? It does not seem that long. We made it....YAY! We also moved out to QUEEN CREEK. Yes i know what you all must be thinking but it is only like a 35min drive into to Mesa, and we like being out on our own but yet close enough to go home for Sunday dinners. Brent is doing good with his school (construction is his major) and i am loving work and school. I jsut found out this week that i shoule be done by August at the latest, then i hope to work at a salon...It would be awesome if i could work at Avante with one of my oldest friends Amber. Did you know we have know each other since third grade. How crazy is that? And then i have Brit, Brooke and Sash and we have been friends since junior high. Man how the time flys by. We all get together and we still act like we are back in ninth grade at times.haha. Well i dont know what else to say...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

So the month of January is a special one. Both me and Brent were both born in January. We decided to have a big party. We invited all of our friends and family over to our new home for pizza cake and the Cards game. It was so much fun. We went through 13pizzas and over 48 cans of soda. Oh ya and a Costco cake. What can I say we hang out with people who know how to eat! Being married is so much fun. I was thinking back on our first month married and how i would cry when i had to go to work because i would miss Brent. Well....not to much has changed. I leave around 9am and get back home around 10:30pm. We never see each other so the time we do spend together means alot. Just 7more months then i will be done with cosmotology school and we will have more "together time"

Ok so going to Cosmotology school has made me realize that i am so out of touch with style. I have had the same hair since i was 14 and i even have clothes i wore back in high school. My resolution is to get in touch with current trends. Now i am not saying i am going to become all "worldy" but just not look the same everyday. So....I cut my hair. i had my friend Amber do it. She did an awesome job. Brent said quote "Wow Amber did a great job i like it" So i will keep you all posted on my goal!

One Year!

So last Sunday was me and Brent's one year for being engaged. I came home from school on Monday and walked in, sat down and took off my shoes. Then I went over to the tree to look at the presents. When I looked up there they were, a HUGE vase of red roses and a picture next to them. They were arranged the same way Brent had them the night he proposed. I was so excited I ran over to Brent and gave him the biggest hug ever. I am SO lucky to have my Brenty.

Home Sweet Home

So me and Brent moved into our first home together last Thursday.We are loving it! It took us a LONG time to get this house but now it is all worth it. We are both so busy with school and work i have NO time to update this thing. Sorry.

So today is my last day here! It is sad that i will be going home to no beach and HOT HOT HOT weather but it will all be worth it.I get to go to one of my bestest friends weddings, and i get to see my nephew Joshua who was born since i have been gone. It has great living here but i am ready to hit the road back to home. Good old Arizona!!!

Ocean Kayaking

So me and Brent decided to be dare devils and go ocean kiaking. I was nervous because i heard there are leopard sharks and other fish you can see, and well it has taken me almost all summer to get in the water. Brent has to drag me out there because i am scared of fish touching me. So on our adventure we saw sharks at least 4ft long and i was not even scared. They would just swim under us so that was ok. After paddling out a ways there were sting rays HUGE ones, like as big as Brent. There stinger alone was about 3ft. That was a rush!! Then i saw something out of the corner of my eye that looked like a fin sticking out of the water. I FREAKED out and yelled for Brent. After about 20 seconds of looking at the thing we realized it was a Seal just playing a joke on us. And it was NOT funny. We saw Dr Sues house and also a fault line (that's were earthquakes come from) and a house was built right on it. Not to smart if you ask me. The best part was when Brent and me were just chilling something hit my paddle and i look down and there is a seal looking at me. I was a little scared but it stayed with in reaching distance of Brent and me for like 3 minuets and was just splashing around and stuff. So that was my experience with that. It was ALOT of fun and i would recommend it!!

Skydiving

so brent has been working hard this summer to get a free skydiving trip. so last night we found out that he had sold just the right amount of accounts to go skydiving. when brent found out the news i was sure he was going to scream like a school girl but much to my surprise he held it in quite well. i am so proud of him. he has worked SO hard this summer it is unreal. then he goes home and is right in school again. he is so amazing! the man takes no breaks.

so yesterday i was sitting at home and felt the couch and table move from under me. then all the windows shook and the door also. i was puzzled and did not get what was going on. i figured it was just the military flying their planes over us, because they do every one and a while and its super loud. i did not think much about it and thought i was crazy. i called brent and asked him if he felt anything and he said no so i just moved on with my day. when i got to work all the girls asked if i felt the earthquake. i said oh is that what that was, they were all surprised. so ya that is my story of our earthquake. it was based in l.a. so that is like 2 hours from us so it was not all that big here. here are some pics from our wedding....people have requested i put more up:)

So last week we decided to go to the san diego zoo. i was amazing! the animals were so close. brent was in heaven. we took amazing pictures. So then last night we traveled to la to see a jimmy eat world concert. it was so cool and it we free since my brother in laws brother is in the band. then we walked around hollywood and saw the stars on the side walk and all the famous stuff. Well during this trip our camera got stollen with all the awesome pics:( so this post will just have to be words no pics. sorry yall,

Right now we are living in California. We will be moving back to Az in mid August. We are loving the weather but missing our friends and family so much. Just a month and a half more.YAY
